Warm up Saves A Lot

Hello again… here I am again, the football buff. I just want to share with you the importance of warm up exercises before a football game…

About 2 weeks ago, a friend of mine called and told me that one of the varsity players in their school just crumpled down on the ground after playing a game of soccer. Upon investigation, they found out that he suffered from severe leg cramps and could not move cuz each movement intensified the pain. They panicked. He was rushed to the hospital and after a few hours, he was released and sent home.
What caused such injury? Well, they found out that this particular student forgot to do some warm up exercises before the game and so, with this, I would like to share with you the importance of warm up exercises before a game…

Warm up session for football aims not only to prepare a player for the game but also helps prevent injuries like the one experienced by the athlete I mentioned and other serious injuries because warm up exercises decreases the risks of muscle strains, sprains or even muscle tears. It also has a positive effect on ones performance in the game since warmed up muscles produce energy faster therefore the player's agility or speed, skills and power are much improved as compared to an athlete who did not undergo warm up exercises.
Another plus for the warm up exercises -  it also helps attune the players' mind to the upcoming game since the drills mimic the football movements. Thus, a good warm up exercise prepares the player mentally and physically for the game at hand.

With this in mind, warm up exercises indeed can save a lot... It can save an athlete from injuries and it can save the team a game!

So if we see a team, like the Phil Azkals do some marching exercises or stretching out on the field before the game, we know that the coach and the athletes are doing the right thing.
